Students working on an art project

Sunday morning education for children, youth, and adults begins at 9:05 a.m. during the school year.

Three year olds through kindergarten and 1st-5th grade meet weekly in Chapel for Worship through song, prayer and offering. During this time the children will also learn of a mission focus. For the second half of Sunday School the children will break into small groups by grade for Bible lessons, life focus activities, crafts and games.

First Lutheran uses Gospel Light Sunday School Curriculum. This curriculum is carefully designed to teach kids the Bible in age-appropriate, fun and life changing ways. Take home pages are sent home with the children weekly so they may continue their faith journey at home.

Enrollment for Sunday School is always open. Please stop at the secretary's desk on the second floor of the education area for a registration form. All children are welcomed at First Lutheran.

Youth in grades six through eight have Sunday morning Confirmation class. Each year, they cover material on one of the following topics: Luther and Paul, Persons of the Old Testament, Persons of the New Testament.

Senior high youth are involved in overseeing many of the workshops for younger children. When they prepare to teach and share with children, they learn and grow in their faith as they model it for others. Senior high youth also have the option of participating in a youth discussion group with weekly relevant topics or the adult class.
