There are countless opportunities for vocal and instrumental participation to provide special music in worship. First Lutheran Church is committed to utilizing the gifts of the whole people of God, not for performance, but for the praise and honoring of God. Chancel Choir— A traditional choir for adults and teens that sings at the 8 a.m. Traditional Service during the school year.
First Light— A contemporary worship team for adults and teens that leads music year-round at the 10 a.m. Contemporary Service.
A Few Singers— An ad hoc vocal group that sings on occasion at the 11:15 a.m. Traditional Service. They rehearse during the hour prior to worship and then share their anthem. This is an informal group made up of people who like to sing, but who cannot commit to the discipline of weekly rehearsal.
Jubilant Sound— A volunteer instrumental group comprised of musicians of any skill level. Jubilant Sound provides special music and accompanies hymns.
Cherub Choir— A choir for children ages three through second grade.
First Ring— A handbell choir for adults and teens.
Joyful Noise— A youth worship team for students in grades three through five which seeks to creatively engage members in leading and enhancing portions of the worship service. Performances are primarily vocal, but tone chimes, shakers, and other rhythm instruments are utilized.
Solid Rock— A drama team for youth in grades six through eight which leads or compliments worship primarily through music, drama, movement, puppetry, multimedia, or any vehicle that expresses the Gospel of Jesus Christ in creative and novel ways.
First Act— A drama team for adults and teens that shares the Gospel in worship through theatrical means.
Music and Arts Camp— A summer camp for youth grades three through five is hosted by First and Grace Lutheran Churches. Participants learn how vocal and instrumental music and the arts enhance worship and the life of the community of faith.
Ecclesiastical Arts— First Lutheran Church seeks to visually enhance our worship, education, and gathering spaces by utilizing color and art (such as banners, stained glass, wood carvings, pictures, and wall art).
